In a thrilling maiden effort, our very own cricket aficionado, Pankaj Malik, swung for the fences by organising a high-stakes match between Principal XI (the school’s pride) and Pankaj Malik XI (the alumni’s dream team). Special guests Arun Arora and Tarun Bajaj added an extra layer of prestige to this blockbuster game.
The match was such a smash hit that it’s now a cherished annual feature, taking place every 26th of January.
While the cricketing action had everyone on edge, the real MVPs of the day were Prince Malik’s side-splitting commentary and Jagdish Ahuja’s perfectly timed zingers, keeping the crowd in stitches. Laughter and sportsmanship ruled the day, making every moment unforgettable!
The 4th HPL Premier League, organizsed by the Hans Raj Model Alumni Association, featured four teams, each divided by the school. The tournament attracted a diverse group of spectators, including teachers, alumni, and passionate cricket aficionados, who all came together to witness the thrilling matches. The event was a celebration of school spirit and a showcase of the school’s cricketing talent.
Another cherished tradition of our Association is the annual friendly cricket match between the School-XI and the Alumni-XI. This exciting T20 match, which has become an eagerly anticipated event, is typically held on January 26th each year. Remarkably, this friendly rivalry has been a part of our calendar for over two decades, bringing together former students and current school members in the spirit of company and sportsmanship. The match has grown in significance over the years, becoming a symbol of connection and nostalgia for alumni while also offering current students the opportunity to bond with their predecessors.
